What you need

Sideloading is free, but it is a development workflow rather than a normal App Store installation.

A computer

Windows or macOS with internet access and a USB connection to your iPhone.

Sideloadly

Download the installer from the official Sideloadly website and install the required Apple drivers.

Your Apple ID

Sideloadly uses it to request a free seven day development signature from Apple.

Install the IPA

Follow these steps again if the app expires and automatic refresh did not complete.

  1. Install Sideloadly

    Download it from sideloadly.io. On Windows, install Apple Devices or iTunes if Sideloadly requests Apple drivers.

  2. Connect your iPhone

    Use USB, unlock the phone, and tap Trust when the iPhone asks whether to trust the computer.

  3. Load Pin Shift

    Download the IPA from this page, open Sideloadly, and drag pinshift-ios.ipa into it.

  4. Sign with your Apple ID

    Select your iPhone, enter your Apple ID, and start the sideload. Apple may require an app specific password if two factor authentication is enabled.

  5. Enable Developer Mode

    On iOS 16 or later, open Settings → Privacy & Security → Developer Mode, turn it on, and restart when prompted.

  6. Trust and open Pin Shift

    If requested, open Settings → General → VPN & Device Management and trust the development profile associated with your Apple ID.

Know the limits before installing.

  • The free signature expires after seven days.
  • Apple limits free accounts to three active sideloaded apps.
  • The computer must refresh or reinstall the app before expiry.
  • Pin Shift cannot change the location used by other iPhone apps.
  • Sideloadly is a third party tool and is not operated by Pin Shift or Apple.
